The Siouxland Race for the Cure officially kicked off in Sioux City on Thursday.

Minerva's hosted the Race for the Cure kick–off party "RaceFest".

This year will be the fourth annual Susan G. Komen 5K run/walk for breast cancer.

It's on May 13^th, Mothers Day in downtown Sioux City.

And there's still plenty of time to sign up.

"It's just so easy, you just either get on the website or come down fill out a piece of paper. Get some friends and go out for a short walk," said Vicki Vincent from Sioux City.

Komen Siouxland also announced the recipients for the 2012, 2013 grants.

Over 170 thousand dollars was given to local education and screening programs for breast cancer.

And a portion of proceeds from dinner also go to the cause.
