There are several events that will be taking place this week in Sioux City on Saturday as part of Historic Preservation week.

There will be different events every day, and most of them will take place downtown.

Paul Barnes, Neighborhood Services Supervisor, says, "Actually this year's slogan is Sioux City: It All Started Downtown. So, we're going to have a lot of events located downtown, but a lot of others throughout the community with a downtown focus."

The main event takes place Wednesday during the "City's Business for Breakfast" event at the Orpheum Theater.

Donovan Rypkema from Place Economics will be speaking from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m.

Barnes says, "He's going to focus on downtown preservation as well as the economics and importance of investing in older historic structures."

This event is free to the public, but it does require an RSVP because they will be serving breakfast.

To register, just send an email to Ann Westra at awestra@sioux-city.org.

Again there's going to be events all week long.
