Hello, I'm Lucas Treat. I'm the weekend sports anchor here at Channel 9 and excited to find myself in Siouxland.
I come from Branson, MO, yes that Branson, MO, and graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. While I attended MSU, I was a part of Ozarks News Journal, the university's statewide news magazine show. At ONJ, I covered everything from the Joplin tornado to the St. Louis Cardinals 2011 postseason run. I was privileged enough to be honored with a 2011 MBEA award for my story on Joplin High School Football, as well as sharing a first place SPJ Region 7 for Best All-Around Newscast. I also attended Boston University's Sports Institute in 2010, where I got to cover the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.
When I'm not working, I enjoy rooting for my alma mater (go Bears!), the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. My biggest sports thrill was David Freese' walk-off homerun in Game Six of the World Series against the Texas Rangers.
