Siouxland firefighters had their game faces on in Le Mars on Sunday.

Several local fire departments including Sioux Center and Hinton came together to compete, learn and have a good time with some water.

The event is held every year for firefighters to not only show off their skills, but spend some time together outside of emergencies.

This year it was hosted by the Le Mars Fire Department.

Le Mars Fire Chief David Schipper said, "It's very competitive...there's a lot of razzing that goes on. But a lot of times we only get to see each other when the chips are down so this is a good time for all of us to socialize with each other and just have a little fun with some things compared to life safety risk and things like that that we normally get together on."

The drills were open to the public and it was the Le Mars Fire Department, that got the loudest cheers. Of course, got to root for the home team.
