A large sign was posted on the "Hepar Bio Science" building near the Sioux Gateway Airport that said: "Obama Welcome To SUX."
Sounds nice enough, right? But the font size could mean the makers of this sign had another message in mind.
That was followed by the words: "and we did build this..." All in reference to comments the President made about small business owners.
But some folks we spoke with say the sign went a little too far.
Laura Switzer of Omaha, NE said, "I think it was probably petty. I'm not an Obama supporter but I think that there's other things that you can do to get your point across."
Larry Dicks of Sioux City said, "You have a right to think and do what you want but I don't believe in disrespect."
Supporters who didn't wish to go on camera said freedom of speech was enough to justify the sign. Our calls to the folks behind the sign went unanswered Sunday afternoon.
We posted a photo of the sign on Facebook Saturday and we got quite a bit of response from it. Some opposed to the sign And some in support of it.
Like Kayla Clark who says: "Regardless of whether or not it's trashy or anything else, it's hilarious. That was their point. They probably know that it's trashy and don't care. It's their right to post the sign whether you agree with it or not."
