First Lady Michelle Obama will address the Democrat Convention and the nation Tuesday night. The First Lady is expected to explaining why she believes President Obama deserves a second term. She is well regarded by delegates. Iowa Delegate Andrea, Nemecek said, "I love Michelle Obama. I am a big fan of hers. I just think she's so poised and elegant and like the President I just get the sense that she really and truly cares." Nebraska Delegate Courtney Powers said, "Her initiative to help with childhood obesity. I think it's really important and I think it's a good initiative for her to be involved in."
In another convention twist, Rhode Island's Independent Governor Lincoln Chafee, who quit the Republican Party, will be there to deliver a speech endorsing Democratic President Obama. Rhode Island Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts said, "The Democratic Party is now the big tent. It's the party where people who no longer find a place for themselves in the Republican Party can now find a home."
But clearly Michelle Obama will be the star of the show. Massachusetts Delegate Kathleen Yorkis said, "She's well educated. She's so intelligent. She's a great mother. A great attorney; a great leader; and I believe in her very strongly."
"One of the places where Michelle Obama might be able to help her husband, is with that small group of voters that are still undecided.
