For the second time in the last two months a South Sioux City bank was held up Tuesday morning.

Police received a call at 9:17am for a bank robbery at the Bank of the West on Dakota Avenue. The suspect, described as an older white male in his 70's, displayed a knife and demanded money. Bank employees cooperated and no one was injured.

Police located and arrested Max Lafferty, 67,  in Klasey Park shortly after the initial call. Lafferty faces charges for Robbery and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. The money he took was all recovered.

The bank was also held up earlier this summer on July 23rd. Robert Thomas, 28, of Marshalltown, Iowa was arrested in connection with that robbery. Thomas is still being held in Marshalltown awaiting extradition.
