Nebraska's open Senate seat is making candidates sweat as they go head to head for a job in Washington.

We spoke with Deb Fischer today at a local café after she gave a speech to a small group of folks.

She talked about her experiences, her life here in Nebraska, her opposing candidate Bob Kerrey, but most importantly-major issues Nebraskans brought to her attention.

"It's regulations, how burdensome they are. It's reforming tax codes so businesses can grow and hire more people to create those jobs, and it's cutting spending...people are saying enough."

Another issue Fischer brought up was the farm bill that is currently stalled in The House of Representatives. She says the bill needs to be passed to help farmers, especially after the dry-heat that affected their crops this summer.
