In a recent report, airlines such as U.S., Delta and United to name a few... collected millions, even billions of dollars in baggage fees during the first half of this year.
Many airlines started collecting these fees in 2008 and they've been increasing ever since.
But now, these same airlines may start charging even more during peek holiday seasons.
"I don't like it at all, it's pretty expensive," says one frequent flyer.
Chriss Camenzend, with Premier Travel Agency says you need to be extra careful when booking online because some websites aren't up front with the price of an airlines baggage fee.
"Sometimes when you look at a rate on a website you have to make sure that's included all the taxes but none of the websites talk about the baggage fees you have to delve unto the fine print so you know what those fees will be," she says.
Other frequent flyers say if the airlines are going to charge a baggage fee, they should include it in the price of the ticket.
"It's unfortunate, if they could just hide it in the ticket price, then I don't feel like I'm paying extra."
United, Delta and U.S. Airways haven't begun any additional baggage fees yet, but they say it is possible during the upcoming holidays.
