Sioux City Man Officially Charged In Westside Shooting

A Sioux City man has now officially been charged with first degree murder after a shooting that happened on September 22nd.

Fernando Jaimes-Martinez also faces charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, willful injury and felon in possession of a firearm.

He is accused of shooting into a crowd of adults and children and killing 27 year old Karla Gonzalez after a fight broke out in front of Martinez's home at 1602 Villa Avenue.

Four other people were stabbed during that fight, but no charges have been filed related to the stabbings.

If convicted of first-degree murder, Martinez faces mandatory life in prison without the possibility of parole.
