Southbridge Drive officially opened up on Wednesday.
The road runs past the 185th Air Refueling Wing and provides direct access to the Southbridge Business Park.
The business park is where up and coming Sabre Industries is located.
The easy access to the Southbrdige Business Park will hopefully give folks an opportunity to scout out future employment in the area.
"500 of my members are part-time guardsmen, and they need good jobs here in Siouxland to stay in the local area," said Colonel Brian Miller of the 185th. "Anything that spurs economic development in Siouxland is great for us."
Construction of the road began last year.
It was a joint effort between Sioux City, the Iowa Department of Transportation and the 185th.
Total cost for the project was close to$6 million dollars.
