Traffic was stopped on I-29 in Sioux City for about an our due to a car accident.
At one point, traffic was backed up as far back as South Dakota.
The accident happened near the Riverside exit, just after 7:45 Friday morning.
A female driver failed to slow down in time and hit the car in front of her. She sustained minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.
She's being cited with failure to stop and assure clear distance.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
