It is not every day, you see knights dueling it out to defend their kingdoms or pirates telling a joke or two, but it is what you found at the 9th Annual Sioux City Riverssance Festival.
"This has always been a family oriented event for any family in the area," said Riverssance goer Tamie Gregerson. "There's so much to do for the kids and the adults."
Exhibits and shows like sparring, sword fighting, and even story-telling were just some of the things that kept festival goers busy.
With so many exhibits and re-enactments from "yester-year", the festival acts as not only a place to play but learn.
"It's so educational for the kids. They really enjoy it," added Howard Brentlinger, an avid Riverssance fan.
Over the last nine years, the festival has become bigger and bigger, getting more and more attention all the time.
This year was nothing short of that.
