A train derailed north of Le Mars on Highway 60 at about 9:00 am Monday, but thankfully no one was injured.

According to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, 21 empty grain cars derailed from the tracks, but the train's conductor was uninjured and the train track is far enough away from the road that it didn't pose a risk to motorist traveling along Highway 60.

The derailment is under investigation, there is no word yet on what caused the train to come off the track.
