Steve Schneider, who is the president and CEO of Gerkin Windows and Doors, was honored with the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce's Edwards Deming Entrepreneurial Award Monday night.
The South Sioux City based company has grown its employment every year for the past 21 years. So what's the secret to Schneider's success? He told us, "If you're going to run a company, if your going to be an entrepreneur to put a company together, you better make sure that you like working and you're willing to spend the hours to help the thing grow, because it takes a lot of hours."
The Deming Award get's it's name after the late Sioux City native Edwards Deming. He's considered the father of the modern quality management system.
