For nearly the last thirty years, the building on the corner of 4th Street and Nebraska has been known as the Terra Centre, but Thursday, it has been officially re-named as the Ho-Chunk Centre. There was quite the crowd at Thursday's big announcement. Mayor Bob Scott spoke, also Chris McGowan from the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, both talking about how excited they we're to see such a strong re-investment in the building and also this community. Chief Executive Officer of Ho-Chunk Incorporated, Lance Morgan, shared the same sentiment right before making the big announcement.

"You know we do a lot of government contracting and we have a lot of people who... government's going to spend it, and we can bring it here, and we're going to do that, and we're going to make a real commitment to this community and we're excited about it," said Morgan.

Morgan says Ho-Chunk Incorporated will rent some space in the building for a satellite office, but it's head quarters will remain on the reseveration. Don Dunham Development is a co-owner of the building, and Mr. Dunham said Thursday, some of the most immediate changes folks will notice will be cosmetic, they plan to work on the roof and re-tiling immediately.

C-E-O Lance Morgan also said this will not be the only local investment Ho-Chunk makes in the community, it plans to do much more locally in the future.
