Something very strange is happening down on 4th street....zombies are taking over!
welcome to zombie-wood, maybe you recognize some of these famous, slightly dead, faces...
"I'm a dead Marilyn Monroe."
"I'm Abraham Lincoln zombie slayer."
"I'm a dead Courtney love."
the theme this year is to dress up like your favorite famous person. This is the third year in a row zombies have taken of the streets, and this year all the proceeds from the event are going to the food bank of Sioux city.
"it's super fun, it gets you motivated to help people, you get to dress up as zombies. It's really fun," said Teresa Hamilton, Dallas, TX.
The last two years nearly 350 zombies crept through downtown Sioux City, and the same amount was expected this year. And whether you're walking among the dead, or watching from the sides, the whole thing really is a scream...
"The best part is seeing people come down here, even if they didn't get the best makeup or even if they have no make up, just enjoying being a zombie," said Shelby Lenz, Sioux City.
"This is the first time I've see it. It's neat. I like seeing the children and I think it's really neat that their a part of it," said Debbie Florke, Sioux City.
