Every little bit helps.
That's what you can say about the efforts of volunteers Paul McGuirk and Gerry Neuroth with the American Red Cross in Sioux City as they help in the search to look for a missing person in the Missouri River north of Ponca, Nebraska.
Both had been out since sunrise on Sunday feeding search and rescue teams.
"We brought some pizzas and some water, said McGuirk. "We set out the food and beverages for the family, divers, and searchers."
McGuirk and Neuroth have been ashore with other American Red Cross volunteers from Norfolk, consoling and helping the friends and family of the missing person get through this very difficult time.
"There's something about the red cross; it's a shoulder to lean on, and we want to be there for them," added Neuroth.
Since Saturday morning, rescue and search teams and the American Red Cross have been out as early as 7:30 in the morning trying to search for the loss person.
As of Sunday night, there was still no sign of the missing person.
Search and rescue teams and the American Red Cross say they will be back on the river Monday morning to continue their search.
