The price of farmland in Siouxland continues to climb. 80 acres of farm land near Boyden sold for a record $21,900 an acre on Thursday.
It's believed to be a new farm sale record.
According to auctioneer Todd Hatterman of Vander Werff and Associates in Sanborn, the old record was $20,000 an acre for land sold last year near Hull.
Thursday's sale by the estate of Henry Boelsma was to an as yet unidentified group of local farmers.
