The longest tenured therapeutic horse at Sioux City's Special Troopers Adaptive Riding School (S.T.A.R.S.) was honored today.

S.T.A.R.S. riders paid a special tribute to Crescendo. He's spent 25 years of his life as a therapy horse before passing away over the weekend at the age of 28.

And the folks at S.T.A.R.S. say he's going to be missed.

"To be able to continue and stay with the program for twenty five years is amazing and awesome and we just couldn't of asked for a better horse," said Stacy Pedersen from S.T.A.R.S.

Crescendo was recently awarded the 2012 Horse of the Year award.

S.T.A.R.S. says it's bringing in a new horse, but it will hard to replace Crescendo.
