Some simple pink T–shirts were a big hit last month and will help more local women get checked for breast cancer.

On Friday, members of the local firefighters union presented a check for $2,000 dollars to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center. The money was raised by selling "Care Enough to Wear Pink" T–shirts.

The shirts were so popular they sold out in less than three weeks.

"The community gives a lot for us and they support us, it's nice to give back to the community so it feels pretty good," says Dan Cougill, President of the Firefighters Association.

The Cancer Center will use the money to fund mammograms for underserved women through the "Fight Like a Girl" program.
