Three days before the Presidential Elections and the latest ABC News Washington Post Poll shows former Governor Mitt Romney in the lead by just one point, 49-to-48 percent.
Close in the polls, and close on the campaign trail. Both candidates were in Dubuque, Iowa... Battling it out in one of the key battle ground states.
"Words are cheap. You can say whatever you want to say in a campaign but what you can achieve, those results are earned," said Romney.
Governor Romney took the stage first in Dubuque shortly after noon, reminding Iowans what the next four years has in store if President Obama is re-elected.
"You're going to have another debt ceiling come up. And there is going to be a question if there is going to be a shut down of government, or a default. Could you imagine four more years of that?"
But just hours later, the President was in Dubuque firing back, reminding Iowans of his success over these last four years.
"Today, businesses have created 5 and a half million news jobs. The American Auto Industry is back on top, home values are on the rise. We're less dependent on foreign oil than any time in the last 20 years,"said President Obama.
Obama continued to push for the middle class and equality across the board, while Romney made a promise to Iowans that he had a plan to fix this economy. Both taking these final days of their campaigns to make a lasting impression.
"No matter how bad a storm is, no matter how tough times may get, we always bounce back, we're all in this together," said Obama.
"I have a clear and unequivocal message. And that is, America is about to come roaring back," said Romney.
Both candidates are expected to continue campaigning in Iowa over the weekend.
