After serving in the South Dakota State House for two years, Dan Lederman from Dakota Dunes has been elected to his second term in the South Dakota Senate.

Lederman, the Republican, defeated Democrat Mike O'Connor with 60–percent of the vote.

And Lederman says he'll continue to advocate for siouxland.

"What I'd like to do is maintain the business friendly climate in South Dakota – I think as a region when we look at South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska together we've got a lot of strengths – we can compete in a world market," said Lederman

Lederman owns and operates a bail bonding company that has agents in nine states – including one in Sioux City.
