Democrats swept Woodbury County's Iowa House races.

Thanks to redistricting, the Chris Hall/Jeremy Taylor race was the only incumbent versus incumbent race in the state of Iowa. And Tuesday night, the Democrats spoke the loudest.

It was handshakes and smiles galore for Democratic State Representative Chris Hall. He keeps his seat in the State House after beating fellow incumbent Republican State Rep. Jeremy Taylor.

"My district, it's not a heavily Republican or Democratic district, it's very middle of the road. And I'm very honored to have the chance to go back and continue representing this district because I think that it affirms that voters have confidence in me and the fact that I have really put a lot of effort in to working across the aisle," commented Hall.

And the other Iowa House race in Woodbury County went to the left as well. Local Attorney David Dawson will be reporting to the State House after beating Republican Greg Grupp.

"I'm excited that voters have decided that I can do a good job for them and represent them in the State House and I'm committed to working hard for Sioux City," said Dawson.

Both candidates attribute their success to face–to–face, door–to–door campaigning over the last year.
