Whiting and Onawa fire crews were called out to the house around 4-p.m. where a barn had caught on fire and burned down to the ground.
The fire then spread to open grassland near the barn burning over 20-acres of it.
The owner of the barn said the barn was filled with hay, which may have attributed to why it burned so easily.
Fire crews said the high winds tonight caused the fire to spread so quickly. No one was in injured in the fire. Fire crews have not yet learned what started the fire.
