It was not the dodgeball you played in P.E.

At the Siouxland High School Co-Ed Dodgeball Tournament in Sioux City on Saturday, dodgeball was played "Storm the Castle" style.

"It's a lot more intense, trying to keep your medic alive," said Levi Paulsen from the Sioux City East and Woodbury Central Team. "Once he's gone, the game is basically over."

Each team was made up of ten players, all trying to protect their castle.

The aim of the game was to knock down the other team's castle and get their ruler out.

The team who won the tournament all got free Ipads, which is one reason why over 100 students participated in Saturday's event.

All proceeds from the tournament were given to the "Welcome Home" program of the Communication Action Agency of Siouxland.

The cause helps homeless families of Siouxland get back on their feet.

"They provide training, working with a family specialist, provide them with a place to live while they can get on their feet," said Eric Rawdon, one of the tournament's organizers. "The goal is to have a permanent job and permanent housing."

Sunnybrook Community Church and Central Baptist Church of Sioux City helped put on the event.

They want to raise at least $20,000 dollars for the "Welcome Home" program.
