Late Saturday night, Sioux City native Kevin Fetterman was walking into a restaurant in the south side of Indianapolis. He went to grab the door when all of a sudden the ground started shaking.

"I thought someone had hit the building or maybe an earthquake. I've been in one of those and it felt just a little bit like the same thing," remembered Fetterman. "It got me kind of shaken up, and I ran out of the building thinking something was wrong."

Fetterman said the shaking lasted a few seconds, and when he went outside, he saw police and fire crews rushing to the scene.

Fetterman immediately drove to the area where the explosion happened.

Once close to the scene, he said there was mass confusion.

"I did ask an officer who was directing traffic close to the neighborhood, and he said, 'I think it's a plane crash'".

It is still unknown what caused the explosion that killed two and destroyed five homes.

Some people speculate that it could have been a problem furnace.

Fetterman said he has a few friends who live in the neighborhood where the explosion happened.

He checked in with them and said they are alright and doing fine.
