It was a marathon meeting for the Sioux City School Board Monday night. But they did make some headway.

The School Board approved a recommendation to move forward with plans to replace aging elementary schools. The plan is to move students from Lincoln, Clark and Crescent Park elementaries to the old Hoover Middle site. Then, Clark would be renovated to be a new early childhood center.

And, as for Bryant Elementary, it looks like the option going forward, at least for now, is building on the existing site.

"We have strong board support and obviously community support pushing forward on a school on the Bryant Campus, so we'll thoroughly study that option. We also have the available land at Hoover, so we'll move forward on that," said Superintendent Dr. Paul Gausman.

Also approved, A contract with FEH Architects to design a new Washington Elementary.
