Cedar Falls, IA - Heelan's run at their fourth state football title fell short. The Crusaders were knocked off by top ranked Decorah in the 3A Championship game 49-21. Decorah stormed out to a 21 point lead in the 2nd quarter, but Heelan scored 14 unanswered points to cut it to 21-14 at halftime. But in the second half the Vikings scored 28 straight points to pull away and win the 3A crown. Heelan finishes the season 12-2.
