CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Senior guard Jacqui Kalin was named the MVC Player of the Week for her performances in the Panthers' wins against South Dakota and North Dakota State.
Kalin, who redshirted last season due to injury, hasn't missed a beat during the 2012-13 season. She has scored in double figures in all three games this season.
She helped lead the Panthers to a 63-50 win over the South Dakota Coyotes, adding 15 points to the team score. Kalin finished the game with four made field goals, three of those being from three-point-land. She also added five rebounds, one assist and three steals during her 26 minutes of play.
Against the Bison of North Dakota State she led both teams in scoring with 26 points. Kalin also finished with a career high nine rebounds on the way to helping the Panthers to their second consecutive win, beating NDSU 66-50.
Kalin is leading the team in points with 58 and is averaging 19.3 points per game. She is also leading the team in assists with 13 and has accumulated 19 rebounds. She is perfect from the free throw line with 13 points.
Kalin and the Panthers will return to action this week when they head to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the SouthPoint Thanksgiving Shootout that will run from Nov. 23-24.
