Local Hospital Receives Medal for Commitment to Organ Donations

Health and Human Services in Iowa, recently presented Mercy Medical Center with a Silver medal for its commitment to organ donation efforts, between April 2010 and March 31st, 2012.

A number of guidelines were met by the hospital to receive the award, one in particular was of the patients that come to Mercy Medical Center,  77 percent of them agree to be an organ donor. It is the second time the hospital has received this donor recognition. Only four other hospitals in Iowa have received the award.
