Two-people were taken into custody after a shooting incident early Saturday morning in downtown Norfolk, that resulted in a victim being airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Jordan Beehn, 28, of Madison, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and felony operation of a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.

He also was arrested on charges related to the shooting incident outside of a downtown bar.

During the arrest, which occurred just after 1 a.m. Beehn was identified as a suspect in the shooting of a man that had just occurred at Club Hollywood, 117 S. Third St.

Beehn and his 25-year-old wife, Kelly, were taken into custody without incident. A handgun and ammunition were found in the possession of Beehn at the time of his arrest.

Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer said a man was shot in the mouth area and transported to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Witnesses at the scene told police that Beehn and the woman he was with left in a pickup and described the truck.

According to police, Beehn and his wife Kelly were leaving the Club Hollywood bar when she got into an altercation with another woman who also was leaving the bar.

Jordan Beehn then hit an unidentified man, who was attempting to break up the fight, with his gun. When the victim turned around Beehn allegedly shot the victim in the mouth area.

Beehn was arrested shortly after 1 a.m., when the Stanton County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a speeding pickup on Highway 24, West of Stanton.

The pickup sped up and appeared to be attempting to flee when it suddenly turned south off Highway 24 onto a county road about two-miles West of Stanton.

Beehn lost control of the pickup and crashed into the west ditch and attempted to drive out of the steep ditch.

Both Beehns' were transported back to Norfolk and later transferred to the custody of Norfolk police.

Beehn was arrested for first-degree assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and second degree assault.

Stanton County officials recovered a .40 caliber Glock handgun from the pickup. Beehn was housed in the Norfolk city jail and later transferred to the Madison County jail.

No further information has been given out in regards to the victims or their conditions at this moment.
