It's a one-of-a-kind gift this holiday season featuring children from The Crittenton Center. For the first time in its 115 years of existence, the Crittenton Center is rolling out a unique and colorful cookbook. "Crittenton Center's Circle of Friends Cookbook" features more than 100 recipes from board members, staff and anyone else having a special connection to the non-profit. The cookbook also features adorable pictures of the children who attend Stella Sanford Child Development Center. "They are fabulous!!" exclaimed Executive Director, Marian Burnett.
The newly released cookbooks will be on display at a special open house for donors at the Stella Sanford Child Development Center located at 1724 Geneva Street on Thursday December 6th from 5 – 7 pm.
Cost for the cookbook is $15 each or $12 each if you buy five or more. All proceeds stay right here in Siouxland and will directly benefit the children and families served by the Crittenton Center.
The cookbook is truly unique because it features a section called "If you just don't feel like cookin" where local restaurants helped out with the printing costs of the cookbook to have their name in this section.
Right now the Crittenton Center provides a wide range of programs that help meet the needs of these families. Those programs include pre-natal care for uninsured and under insured women, quality day care, preschool, an infant center, resource center for parenting classes, an emergency shelter for children, homeless prevention programs, and a program to enhance parent-child relationships. The Crittenton Center programs are supported by state and federal grants, fees for service, and private donations.
