The Grinch hasn't exactly stolen Christmas this year, but he came close.

Apparently someone broke into Santa's House at the Sioux City Hotel and stole digital cameras and equipment and socks. The theft happened sometime before 6:00 Wednesday morning.

Santa's House will now have to use some of the proceeds that it's earned so far to buy new cameras.

That money was suppose to go to St. Luke's Children's Miracle Network and the Sergeant Bluff Kiwanis youth program.

"They sit on Santa's lap, get their pictures taken, get some candy, some socks. It's a good thing all the way around. And then to have the mockery of someone coming in and doing this, I just don't understand it," said Brad McPeek, a member of the staff at the Sioux City Hotel.

If you would like to support the cause after this major set back, Santa will be back and ready for pictures Thursday evening 6-8pm.
