EVANSDALE, Iowa (AP) _ Evansdale police say an autopsy has confirmed that two bodies found last week in a wildlife area are those of Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook.
Police Chief Kent Smock says he received confirmation Monday from the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office that the bodies were the two cousins, who had been missing since July 13. The full autopsy hasn't been released to police.
Elizabeth was 8 and Lyric was 10 when they went for a bike ride in the northeastern Iowa community and didn't return. Hunters found their bodies last week in the Seven Bridges Wildlife Area in Bremer County, about 25 miles from where they were last seen.
Authorities closed the park while they searched for evidence connected to the case but now have reopened the area.

A sheriff says hunters discovered the bodies believed to be two missing cousins in a secluded wildlife area about 25 miles from where they vanished in July.
Bremer County Sheriff Dewey Hildebrandt said Thursday the bodies were found in Seven Bridges Wildlife Area, a county-maintained park along the Wapsipinicon River that is popular for hunting and fishing.
Hildebrandt says investigators from his office, the FBI, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and other agencies are processing the crime scene.

EVANSDALE, Iowa (AP) _ Authorities say hunters have found bodies believed to be two young Iowa cousins who disappeared while riding their bikes in July.
Black Hawk County sheriff's Capt. Rick Abben said during a news conference that the bodies were found Wednesday afternoon, though he wouldn't say where.
Abben says both are being sent to the state medical examiner's office to verify they are the bodies of 11-year-old Lyric Cook and 9-year-old Elizabeth Collins.
The two girls vanished July 13 near Meyers Lake in Evansdale, about 110 miles northeast of Des Moines. Their bikes were found near the lake.
Abben appeared to be fighting back tears as he said, ``the outcome was not the one we wanted.''
Abben says the area where the bodies were found is still being processed.
