In warm or cold weather, construction will go on.

On Saturday, crews were out on Wesley Parkway working on the bridge removal, putting detours in place and causing traffic to back up.

"There was a line, probably 20 car lengths. Traffic was not moving, so I just flipped it around and hit Tri-View then Gordon Drive," said Jerry Debois of Sioux City.

Going into December, construction crews say the cold weather right now is not a hindrance.

General Superintendent, Marty Jorgensen of Cramer and Associates, Inc. said, "The work we're doing right now is not temperature sensitive, but if it gets 10 degrees or colder, we'll stop."

Cars trying to go north or south across the bridge had to take Hamilton and other routes on the interstate to get around.

Even gas stations along Gordon Drive said all the construction had caused a bit of roadblock for them as well.

"Right now, it hurt a little bit, but not a lot. People are using the alternative ways," said Muhammad Amir with Sam's Mini Mart.

Crews say they are right on schedule for the big Interstate 29 re-construction project, and they will continue to work as long as the weather allows.

Wesley Parkway at I-29 will re-open before 6 a.m. on Monday.
