While mail theft has been a big problem lately in Southwest Iowa, this could serve as a good reminder for us too.
Dozens of reports have been filing into the Adair County Sheriffs Office, with people finding piles of mail in the middle of the street, there.
Investigators believe the thieves are taking all the contents from mailboxes, rifling through them for the items they want, then dumping the rest.
Experts say the best way to ward off mail thieves is to beat them to your mailbox. Check and retrieve your mail as soon as it's delivered.
