A local liquor store was robbed at gun point earlier Thursday afternoon. It happened at  "Pioneer Package" liquor store in Dakota City, Nebraska.

Authorities say the suspect entered the store around 1:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, wearing a ski mask and threatened the store owner with a gun, demanding cash.

"He took off running, one of the neighbors chased him. But he got away. Now we've got a K-9 unit trying to track him," said Tim Decker, Chief Sheriff Deputy for Dakota City.

Police are not releasing how much cash the suspect got away with. The store owner's wife did say it was not "a lot of money." The store owner and his wife were the only two in the liquor store at the time.  The Valerio family has only owned the liquor store three months.
