We now know who Sioux County Sheriff's deputies say was responsible for making threats that forced the temporary lock down of schools in the MOC-Floyd Valley district on Monday.
Officers have charged 22-year-old Ricky Lee Carver of Hospers with Harassment in the 1st Degree. He is accused of making threatening comments on Facebook. According to the complaint, he commented that he wanted to "shoot a bunch of people, my family and myself."
Carver is currently being treated at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. A warrant for his arrest has been issued and he will be taken into custody once he is released, which is expected to be in the next couple of days.

(From the Sioux County Sheriff's Office) On Monday, December 17, at 1:07 pm, the Sioux County Sheriff's Office received a complaint that a 22 year old male from Hospers, IA had made threatening comments on Facebook. The complainant reported that the suspect made this comment, "I want to shoot a bunch of people, my family and myself."
Officers were immediately dispatched and two schools, located in Hospers, were put on lock down. The two schools were: Spalding Catholic Elementary school and MOC Elementary.
At 1:44 pm sheriff's officers located the suspect walking near his home in Hospers. He was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect will be evaluated by medical personnel.
The case remains under investigation and criminal charges are pending.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted with the incident.

The Sioux County Sheriff's Department says at 1:07pm Monday a 22-year-old man made statements that he wanted to shoot some people and himself near Hospers, IA. According to a NIXLE report sent out by officers, they do now have the man in custody.
Schools in the surrounding area were put on lock down as a precautionary measure.
The identity of the suspect has not yet been made public.

Schools in the MOC-Floyd Valley district were on lock down for 10-15 minutes Monday afternoon.
Around 2pm, parents in the district received a text alert telling them that the schools were on lock down. A school official says that there was no threat or issue at the school, but they were directed to be on lock down by law enforcement officials. The lock down status was lifted by 2:15pm.
We have put a call into the Sioux County Sheriff's office. They declined to comment on the situation.
We have a reporter on the way to Orange City, we plan to speak with officers and school leaders. We will have more on the situation as it becomes available.
