At 5:17 P-M Monday, 25 firefighters of the Norfolk Fire Division responded to a chimney fire at 55943 842 Rd. in rural Norfolk.

Upon arrival, firefighters found fire in the walls on both sides of a brick chimney. An aggressive attack was made opening walls on both levels of the structure, both inside and out.

The fire was put out within 15 minutes, however, for precautionary measures, crews and equipment remained on scene for over an hour.

The house is owned and occupied by Lorraine Hendrix and her son Michael Garver. The cause of the fire is believed to be heating of combustible materials within the walls near the chimney.

Structural damage is estimated to be $20,000 with unknown damage amounts to contents. No injuries were reported.
