Nine cats that were pulled from a Sioux City home in deplorable conditions are proving they have nine lives.

Those cats are the only surviving cats out of over one hundred that were taken from the home of Mark Lanning of Sioux City back in October.

A majority of the cats hoarded in the home had to be put down because of feline leukemia and unhealthy conditions.

The nine that survived however are healthy and are ready for adoption by Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue.

"I know it's a small number compared to what we had, but for those of us who worked on the case in trying to save them, nine is better than nothing," said Cindy Rarrat of Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue.

So far one cat, "Phantom" has been adopted out.

All the cats have had their shots and are neutered.

If you are interested in adopting one, you can stop by Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue on 2400 Hawkeye Drive.
