11-year old Dayton Drake and his mother, Breezy are on a mission to buy holiday gifts, not made in China, but from the USA. And it was all Dayton's idea.
"We just want to get the right gifts for people and we want to support our economy. So, we're really supportive," said Dayton Drake.
But jumping on board has proved harder than expected.
"They're not highly branded. I would plaster a huge flag on it. And make sure that people know that so that because it's hard to find the labels sometimes," said Breezy Struthers Drake.
The goal of their shopping trip is to pick up a board game for Dayton's Secret Santa. And most are, you guessed it, made in China.
But. not all of them. Breezy and Dayton found that the game "Life" was made in the USA.
But, what else? Breezy says locally made art is a good option and clothing.
"One of the things that I do whenever I go to local businesses is I actually ask 'what do you have?' and it's typically about 2 or 3 items," said Breezy.
And remember the statistic: if every American spent just $64 on things made here that could mean 200,000 jobs.
