The holidays can be a stressful time for all of us, but especially members of the military are just returning home.
In honor of those troops now home in Siouxland, SAFE, or Serving Armed Forces Everyday, teamed up with the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office for Wednesday night's "Christmas For A Cause" event.
The law enforcement officers shopped the wish lists of 20 kids from military families.
"We can help each other. Firefighters, first responders, we're all in it together," said Woodbury County Sheriff-Elect David Drew.
"It can put a lot of stress on them. Our soldiers face enough stress. They have our back overseas, we have their back at home," said SAFE President Molly Gray.
Before shopping, the group released green and white balloons in honor of the Sandy Hook victims.
