Thursday brought the first significant snowfall of the season to Siouxland. While the snow moved on to the east Thursday morning, the winds howled and temperatures were certainly chilly. Folks Thursday morning were digging out from the approximately three inches of snow that piled up in Sioux City overnight.

Folks were bundled up heading off to work and driving with extra care on the roads. Robert Rivera, for one, was excited to see the flakes fall. Robert says, "Finally, it's coming! Everybody's been waiting for this for a long time. Everybody wants a White Christmas."

Of course, with the snow comes slick roads. The number one thing Sioux City Police say you can do to prevent travel trouble is give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination. Crime Prevention Officer Chad Sheehan says, "Leave extra time, drive slowly. Just because the speed limit sign says thirty–five, or forty, or forty–five miles an hour, or whatever it might say...it doesn't mean that you have to drive that speed."

With that in mind, we can all enjoy the Winter Wonderland.
