New Year's Eve is the busiest night in the taxi cab business.
"We're extremely busy! Every New Year's, that's the biggest day of the year," said Action Taxi dispatcher, Dana Dawdy.
Siouxland Taxi and Action Taxi said on Monday night, they will be so busy, they are increasing the number of taxis and dispatchers they have working.
Like the taxi services, local Sioux City bars will also do their part in getting people home safely New Year's Eve night.
Marty's Tavern in Sioux City will have its own group of "designated drivers", a group of volunteers who will drive people home safely after the night of celebrating.
"On a goodwill donation basis, anyone that needs a ride home, they're going to be there to offer that to them," said Kevin Jacobe, Manager of Marty's Tavern.
The tavern typically reserves cabs for customers, but can't do that on New Year's Eve because taxi business is so busy.
So instead the bar will take it upon itself to make sure everyone gets home safely and starts the New Year off right.
"This should be a night that everyone is celebrating and ringing in the New Year, and I don't want anyone starting it off poorly," said Jacobe.
Marty's Tavern is still looking for more drivers. If interested call the tavern at (712) 277-9568.
