The documentary film "Bully" that used the Sioux City school district as a backdrop to highlight the struggles of children suffering from bullying missed out on an Oscar nomination today.
The film was on the short list of possible nominees for this year's 85th annual Academy Awards.
The nominees were announced earlier this morning. "Bully" was edged out by the films "5 Broken Cameras", "The Gatekeepers", "How to Survive a Plague", "The Invisible War", and "Searching for Sugarman".
