SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ A prominent developer in South Dakota's largest city has died.

A family spokesman says 70-year-old Don Dunham Jr., of Sioux Falls, died Saturday after complications from surgery at Avera McKennan Hospital.  John Archer, Dunham's lawyer, says Dunham was a pioneer who was the first developer to use the tax increment financing program in Sioux Falls.  Dunham recently partnered with Ho-Chunk Inc. to purchase the former Terra Centre in downtown Sioux City, IA.

During his career, Dunham reportedly built more than 1,000 apartment units and more than 400 townhouses and condominiums.  Archer says Dunham's developments ``touched 50 to 75 percent of Sioux Falls.''
