South Dakota Senator John Thune spoke out on gun violence in America Wednesday.
The Republican was in Sioux Falls, SD wrapping up a series of town hall style meetings.
Thune said America has a problem with policing or at least identifying people with mental issues. Thune said, "In the last several instances there were clear warning signs that were red flags that went off that people should've seen and didn't.  Examining more closely how to determine the people with mental health and illness conditions is going to be a part of the solution."
Thune also talked with folks about fiscal cliff issues and the state of the nation.
