Members of Sioux City City Council boarded a bus and drove all across town to check out some of the biggest, upcoming projects in the area, for 2013. Some of the projects are already underway, like reconstruction of the Hyvee Drug Store on Pierce Street, and the Sunnybrook Medical Center by the Lakeport Commons Mall.
The bus tour gives community leaders a chance to showcase some of the projects the council has already approved and others it has not. So when it comes time to delegate funds in the future, the city has a better idea of what projects need and when.
Some other spots on the tour included West 7th Street reconstruction, Bacon Creek Park improvements, and the recently approved Walgreens on Hamilton Boulevard.
