Today all eyes were on Washington D.C. for the for the Presidential Inauguration; some of those were students at North High School.
Mr. Hoberg's American Government class, along with several other social studies classes here at North High took time out of their day to witness history.
The 57th Presidential Inauguration is history in the making, and some students at North High School got to watch it all happen.
North High student Kelsey Tope says, "I think it's really exciting that we all get to share that in class because its really nice to be with your peers and get to watch that and be able to look back when you come back and think about what happened that day."
The Presidents Inauguration speech was more optimistic than his speech in 2009.
The students seemed to share that optimism.
NHS student Han Tran says, "Watching the Inauguration in class, especially with a government class, its good for us because we get to see part of what government does and kind of what they do for the public and see it and feel included in it."
Officials estimated about 800,000 people packed the National Mall to see President Obama's ceremonial swearing in.
Not quite the magnitude of 2009, but for the students at North High, the moment was still significant.
Adrian Hernandez says, "It's an honor just to be able to say to my future kids or whoever that I was alive for that."
